Ghost Ships(鬼船)
People still see the Mary Celeste from time to time drifting(飄流) in the north Atlantic , with no captain(船長) or crew(全體船員或機員). Late, on certain dark and stormy nights, fishermen tell stories of the time they came across her and climbed(爬) aboard to see for themselves. The story is always the same: The ship is in good condition, with the sails(帆) furled(捲). The table is still set for dinner. A rope hangs(懸掛) over the side, and the ship’s lifeboat(救生艇) is gone, as if the crew left in a big hurry(匆忙).
This ghost story is based on truth. The Mary Celeste did set out for Italy on Novermber 7, 1872 with an experienced captain, his wife, baby and crew. The ship was found drifting on December 4. The sextant was missing, the compass(指南針) destroyed(毀壞). Police found no evidence(證據) of any crime(罪), but many theories and ghost stories sprung up.
What really happened? Captain Dave Williams, a retired(退休) sea captain who has spent 40 years at sea, thinks he knows. The crew of a ship caught in a seaquake(海嘯) would see very strange(奇妙) things, he says. Compass needles(指南針) would spin(自旋), heavy objects would jump around on deck(甲板), and loud rumbing(喧鬧聲) noises would fill the air. But wooden ships have survived(倖存) with little damage.

如果說a little damage則變成肯定的意思，「有一點損壞」。
