Personal invasion of social security ?是個人隱私還是社會安全問題?

Deb: Why all the fuss over Taiwan's fingerprint identification ?

Mitch: I don't want my fingerprints on my ID card!

Deb:Why not? It's you anyway!

Mitch:That's not the point. I'm not a criminal! They don't need my fingerprints on my ID card.

Deb:I don't care. I have nothing to hide.

Mitch: In most Western countries, the general public wouldn't stand for this.

Deb:Reallly ?

Mitch:Of course! It's an invasion of our privacy. But some Western governments have discussed fingerprint ID also.

Deb: Fingerprints would help catch the bad guys faster.

Mitch:That's true. But where do we draw the line? Should the government take our DNA too ?

Deb:If the need to , the should.

Mitch:You're kidding, right ?And what about our financial or health records?

Deb:Well, the government should only take what it needs.

Mitch: Exactly. But who gets to make that decision?

Deb: Hmmm. That's a good question.
